Valencia is located on the eastern part of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. With a multicultural past, Valencia is the third largest city in Spain. Then, by a short bus ride or bike ride along the Turia bed river, the large green lung of the city with more than eight kilometers, you can find unique architecture like the City of Arts and Sciences, which does not leave any visitor mesmerized.

The City of Arts and Sciences is made up of five magnificent futuristic structures: the Hemisfèric (IMAX cinema and digital projections), the Umbracle (a landscaped vantage point), the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum (an innovative center of interactive science), the Oceanográfic (the largest aquarium in Europe), the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (an international Opera house), and the Ágora, which gives the complex a multifunctional space.

Then, you can head over to the Malvarrosa beach and experience authentic paella, a traditional Valencian dish. Valencia offers its world-famous paella and many other famous gastronomical dishes such as all i pebre, fideuà, olleta…

To end the perfect Valencian meal, there are local desserts such as torrò (nougat), arnadí (pumpkin pie), and the most famous Valencian drink, horchata.

If you have not had enough beach, you can also visit the Patacona beach, just 15 min away from the UPV campus; you will have the opportunity to enjoy the authentic Valencian lifestyle by having a drink at one of the famous “chiringuitos”, beach-bars all day long open. Each one has a different character; choose which one is for you! 

Characterized by its blue skies, the city boasts over 300 sunny days per year; the average daily temperature in June is around 25-26ºC (79-81ºF) and 20ºC at nighttime (64-66ºF), while the average sea temperature in June is 21ºC.

Thanks to the City’s Great Fair, July is punctuated with celebrations in València. This historic fair has been held for decades, hosting traditional events, activities, shows, and unmissable concerts for all ages. Enjoy the vibes of Valencia and its incredible fireworks!
